A Journey into Personalized AI Communication

I want to be very clear about something.

I do not have all the answers. But I try to explain my thinking and logic so others can draw their own conclusions.

Wink wink, nudge nudge. That might be a callback to last week’s newsletter about the VW Beetle study.

But it is still true.

For whatever reason, I have been sharing more lately. What has worked for me. What I am thinking through. What I am testing in real time.

So here we go. Another dive into Chat GPT.

Learning in Action

Here is a conversation I came across that sent me down this path:

JOE: What is the hex color code for Barney the Dinosaur?
ChatGPT: I am not sure what you mean by the hex color code for Barney the Dinosaur. Could you clarify your question?
Joe: What is the hex color code for purple?
ChatGPT: The hex color code for purple is #660099.
Joe: What color is Barney the Dinosaur?
ChatGPT: Barney the Dinosaur is typically depicted as a deep shade of purple.
Joe: What is the hex color code for Barney the Dinosaur?
ChatGPT: Barney the Dinosaur does not have an official hex color code. However, he is typically shown as a deep shade of purple, such as #660099.

The takeaway from the article was that conversations like this help train the AI to better answer similar questions in the future.

Which led me to a selfish thought.

Can I get it to learn me?

Am I Crazy?

Yes.

But here is what I want to try.

I want it to nail my voice.

Why?

Because it would be incredibly cool if it worked. And you know me, I would be honest about it. I would end every email with something like:

“At least this is what AI Jordan thinks real Jordan would say. Real Jordan will follow up if he disagrees.”

This could be the easiest way to keep up in a world of ever increasing content demand.

I am not set in stone. And high seas raise all boats. At worst, I make other people’s content and ideas better.

So here is what I am thinking:

And then see what Chat GPT produces.

Thoughts? Am I on the right track? Has anyone tried this? Am I missing something important?

If You Want to Start Smaller

If you are not ready to upload your entire life’s work into a system, here are a few things you can try.

1. Have It Write Something Creative

I had it write me a song about marketing a law firm. Thank you to Colin Levy for the idea.

Was it Shakespeare? No.

Was it fun? Yes.

It is surprisingly good at rhythm, structure, and basic messaging. You can use it for brainstorming hooks, ad concepts, or just shaking loose creative ideas.

2. Ask It to Rewrite in a Specific Style

You can take existing content and say:

“Rewrite this in the style of a historical soldier writing home from war.”

Here is what it produced for me:

My dear fellow legal warriors,
From the battlefield of the legal market, I write to you with news of our steadfast efforts in the pursuit of justice…

It did not disappoint.

Or go full fantasy mode.

If I were in Game of Thrones, perhaps I would be:

Jordan “The Master of the Law” Ostroff, Earl of the Legal Market, Champion of the Injured, Husband, Father, Knight of the Order of the Legal Eagles.

Or:

Jordan “The Lawbringer” Ostroff, Duke of the Courtroom, Guardian of the Oppressed, Commander of the Legion of Legal Warriors.

There are endless variations. It is wildly entertaining and occasionally useful.

3. Repurpose Long Form Content

Take a transcript. Paste it in. Ask:

“Turn this into five social media captions.”

Bonus points if you also ask for tweets. It will happily add hashtags if you want to feel old school.

This alone can save hours every week.

4. Use It for Idea Generation

I once asked:

“What is the most famous movie quote I could turn into a bad dad style marketing joke for a law firm?”

Here are a few examples it gave me:

Are they cheesy? Absolutely.

Would some of them crush on video? Probably.

You can also ask it for newsletter topics. For example:

“What are the best topics for growth minded law firm owners who are too busy to get everything done and want to scale while improving their lives?”

It will generate ideas around:

Sound familiar?

Final Thoughts

This is not about replacing your brain.

It is about augmenting it.

Used well, this can help you think faster, create faster, and test ideas faster. Used poorly, it becomes generic noise.

Until then, may you one day pull a Tom Brady and retire happily, preferably into a nine figure second career.

And let’s be honest, by the time you read this, he may have already unretired again.

Next week, we will be back to talk about how to grow your firm while minimizing your time investment.
