I finally hit a nerve! 🙌 But it's not a bad thing

 I DID IT!

I hit a NERVE.  And I am so glad that I did.

First, I want to make sure my point is clear.

I don't care if you USE gmail.com, or yahoo, or whatever email platform.  To be honest, I use gmail and LOVE it.

BUT...if you're messaging someone as your law firm, you better have a branded domain.  e.g. Jordan@jordanlawfl.com or

jordan@legaleasemarketing.com

and not:

amazinglawyer@gmail.com

thebestthereeverwasinthelegalprofession@aol.com

penisland@hotmail.net

howcanitrustyouwithmycaseifyouuseafreeemail@anywhere.com

It will run you about $12 a month for a google email, and for that you will get to look professional, access to the full google suite of apps, storage space, etc.

Some people even pointed out that it's more secure

And honestly, I don't even care about the security, I care about the commitment to doing things right.

And here are some other small things you can do to have that go-to professionally awesome lawyer persona (even if you wear Hawaiian shirts and sandals!):

1) Use real photos - don't use all stock images on your website, or PLEASE a social media page with no photo...

 2) Make sure you logo matches from your social media to your website to your business cards to everywhere else

3) Make sure your practice area matches everywhere too

4) Assume that people will see everything you post on social media

 5) Google yourself and make sure you have profiles and updated info on everywhere that comes up

6) Google your law firm and make sure you have profiles and updated info on everywhere that comes up

7) Don't use a phone tree for your clients - press 1 if you're a new client, press 2 if you're a current client, hang up and call another firm if you want to expect better service (you're doing it to save money I know...but you're costing yourself in the long run)

 8) IF a call gets to voicemail, have a real message not the automatic one

 9) Have an email signature line that you're happy to have people see instead of sent from my ipad

 10) What else?  What are the little things that other businesses do that rub you the wrong way?

Let me know, the best answers might get featured in a later newsletter or some other fun reward...wink wink, nudge nudge, know what I mean?  Say no more!

Final reminder for Valentine's Day!  Get stuff now, splurge on your spouse or significant other (or yourself!)

And I will be in Hawaii for the rest of the month, so we are going to go SUPER META - you're going to get to see how we can exist without being here.  And let's be honest, on the day to day stuff, we all know the team is better off without me.

But, big picture we are going to talk about batching content in advance and filming from everywhere (2 things I've done, am doing and will do to make sure I don't have to be stuck behind a desk for 60 hours a week).
